Season's Greetings from the
Justin W. Jones Evangelistic Association

December 2002

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, " Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:8-11 NIV

The Christmas Season is here again.

That time of year when everything seems a little more special. Everybody seems a little more cheerful. Everyday (the closer we get to Christmas) seems a little more magical. At least that's the way it seems to me. Actually it doesn't just seem that way. It really is that way for me!

Growing up, Christmas was always a magical time in our home. My older sisters and brother would come home from college and/or their new homes so that we could all be together. The stress of pastoring a First Baptist Church in a county seat town always seemed to lighten up during the holidays for my dad and mom. Life just got better (or so it seemed to me) during the time between Thanksgiving until New Year's Day. So, for me, Christmas is "the most wonderful time of the year" !

Let me share a Christmas card I received..

CHRISTMAS - THE GREATEST... (John 3:16)

Justin
Romans 1:16

Prayer Requests:

  1. We rejoice in the ministry opportunities God granted us this fall.
  2. We look forward with great anticipation to Mission Triad that God is leading us to serve in this coming year. Mission Triad is a Great Commission ministry, using New Testament methods to reach the lost, hurting, hopeless, unchurched community in the Piedmont Triad area. Pray for wisdom, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual strength and endurance as we minister to others in Jesus' name. Pray that we will be willing to die to self a little more every day as we seek to take up our cross and follow Jesus.
  3. Pray for the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial needs of our co-laborers in ministry, Bobby and Dawn Vaughan, as well as their daughters, Christine, Leah, Anna as they seek to be missionaries where God has placed them: University of NC- Greensboro, Elon College, and Winston-Salem.
  4. Pray for Lisa's parents, Bruce and Lora Howell, as they continue to face the challenges of deteriorating health and the changes that brings.

The Justin W. Jones Evangelistic Association is organized entirely for the charitable purposes of supporting, enabling the preaching ministry of Rev. Justin W. Jones and creating a program of missionary evangelism. All financial gifts to support this ministry are tax deductible as recognized by the Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).

Not Ashamed of the Gospel
Romans 1:16

" I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:
' The righteous will live by faith.' "

Romans 1:16,17 NIV
