From Justin's Heart

I continue to be amazed by the faithfulness of our Lord! When Lisa and I stepped out in faith over six years ago, God promised me that He would provide for all of our needs. The truth is, He has provided for our every need and much more!

At the end of last year I was challenged to "search my heart" concerning my call to full-time evangelism. I am thankful for that challenge! You see, my revival schedule looked lean.

However, my ministry and preaching opportunities were plentiful. Even though my "traditional" revival schedule had only two meetings on the calendar, God showed me that He had given me over 50 preaching opportunities last year! Between youth rallies and retreats, a mission trip to Uruguay and local mission preaching (to the homeless), teaching Sunday School classes and witness training, and helping to fill the pulpit in my home church between pastors, my schedule was a tremendous blessing!

The Lord reminded me to "glance back" from time to time during the year and to take time to THANK and PRAISE HIM for all the opportunities and blessings HE PROVIDES !!!

There is another little "tid bit" I need to share that links 2001 and 2002 ...

One of my revival services in the fall of 2001 was at Red Bank Baptist Church in Germanton, NC. If that name sounds familiar that is because Red Bank is where Lisa and I spent over 6 months in supply / interim work from November 2001 through May 2002!! In fact, Lisa and I have been back to Red Bank on numerous occasions this summer and I had the great privilege to preach there just last week and ORDAIN two men into Deacon Ministry!!

Why am I sharing all this information ?!

I simply want to remind myself, Lisa, our supporters, our friends, our family and everyone or anyone who reads this newsletter that God is in charge. He's on His throne. He makes no mistakes. He has a special plan for every life and He will never, no never, no never, ever leave us nor forsake us!! AND ... (As I have been reminded in just the past couple of days) ...

"If you want to walk on water you have to get out of the boat" God has CALLED me and GIFTED me in the areas of Evangelism, Exhortation, and Encouragement. It's my JOB, PURPOSE and PRIVILEGE to use these gifts for God's Glory anywhere and everywhere that God opens the door.

"Dear Lord, Help me to keep my eyes on you and see the mission field that you want me to see every single day of my life!"

Reaching Out to the UnChurched

As the Lord leads, Lisa and I will be involved in Bible studies for the unchurched this fall in Winston-Salem.

There is such a large percentage of people in our towns and cities that need Jesus, but don't seem to fit in our traditional churches.

With the prayer support of the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association, our churches, Christian friends and supporters, we hope to be a small part of seeing many unchurched families reached for Christ in the days ahead!!

We will share more in the near future...

MISSION WACO
(Finally!!)

I shared in the last newsletter about a mission trip to Waco, Texas in August. My brother and I had to postpone this trip because of scheduling conflicts. However, we plan to travel to Texas on October 24th to experience The Church Under the Bridge (for the homeless) and Mission Waco !!

I promise to share much more about Mission Waco in my next newsletter!

I ask that you pray for me and my brother (Carey) as we travel and as we experience "hands on" missions at its best!!

Pray that we come back with a fresh vision for reaching souls for God's kingdom in our states of North Carolina and Tennessee !!

Prayer Requests:

  1. We rejoice in answered prayer for four revival meetings scheduled for this fall and many other open doors for ministry we have received.
  2. We rejoice in answered prayer for Peyton Flemming, the infant from Hickory, NC. Please pray that Peyton's kidneys will function on their own in order to prevent the need for dialysis. Also, pray that the feeding tube can be removed soon. Pray that his parents, Todd and Lori, remain strong in their faith.
  3. Pray for God's will, patience, and endurance as Lisa continues to seek full-time employment. She will be applying for another position within the Financial Aid Office at Forsyth Technical Community College. God must provide the financial resources for this position to be funded.
  4. Pray for all Christian pastors across the world that God will encourage, strengthen, protect, and guide them as they seek to lead their congregations in fulfilling the Great Commission within their mission field.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel
Romans 1:16

" I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:
' The righteous will live by faith.' "

Romans 1:16,17 NIV
